a dab of superglue on the end of the screwdriver.. Hold it till it bonds.. screw it out, replace it.

I did the same thing and I got a small dab of epoxy and glued the philips driver into what was left of the screw and it came out.
Good Luck it's suck
Do like I did and replace those screws with torx heads, can't strip those.

Get/borrow a dremel and with the thin cut off wheel cut a slot across the face of the screw. Use a standard screw driver then to back it out.
When your cutting, have a vaccum cleaner hose on to suck away the metal.
Have used this many of times.

if you are very care full than you could use a drill, and find a drill bit that is about the size of the core of the screw and carefully drill through the screw

You can try a hex-head driver, or a standard flat-tip driver. If those don't work, take it to a shop. They will have the right tools, and if they break the case, you have them to blame and not yourself.

uhh! i hate that!!!
get out the dewalt and a good strong drill bit!! drill off the screw head, and then back out the rest w/ a pair of needlenose pliers
works everytime!

Try a Magnet, it might bring it up enough so you can get something under it to pull it out
