because rock stars are seen as icons, they're idolised and worshipped, they appear to be powerful and have a strong influence on others...can't blame people for liking that :)

for the same reason that I like soccer players ;-) I find'em attractive,but I hate soccer.... It's all about sex-appeal,I guess
