Well, I am African American and I found myself feeling the same way. I don't know whether rap music has changed or whether I am just growing up. It's just that I do not relate to the rap music and there are more important things in life than the money, cars, and clothes. Rap music has lost its meaning. I don't think rappers rap with their hearts anymore, they only think about the money.

Did you ever wonder why R&B songs are only
about relationships and sex?

Below is definite exploitation. What comes
around goes around. But this is GOOD exploitation

Southern Rock lives

On the night of October 20, 1977 during the opening week of their
most ambitious tour yet, Lynyrd Skynyrd's chartered plane ran out
of fuel and crashed in the woods near McComb, Missisissippi.

Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, long-time assistant
tour manager Dean Kilpatrick, and pilots Walter Mcreary and William
Gray were all killed.

Does anybody out there really know what is important, or is this
just another advertisement? If you could change anything in the
would you change anything, if you knew for certain
no personal profit is to be obtained from the change?

A BRIEF CANDLE-BOTH ENDS BURNING AN ENDLESS MILE,
A BUS WHEEL TURNING
A FRIEND TO SHARE A LONESOME TIMES
A HANDSHAKE AND A SIP OF WINE
SAY IT LOUD AND LET IT RING
THAT WE'RE PART OF EVERYTHING
THE FUTURE, PRESENT AND THE PAST
FLY ON PROUD BIRD, YOUR'RE FREE AT LAST

"and be a simple kind of man.................................."

Lynyrd Skynyrd Free Bird Oakland CA 1977 [ movie ]

A most awesome performance, available only
on the DVD "Free Bird" the movie. It boggles
the mind...110 million(or was it 120 million?)
Caucasian males and females. Many of the
females, anywhere from 18 to 30, with real
bodies, real faces. None of whom listened
to Tupac Shakur or Snoop Dogg or Destiny's
Child. Just good rock music.

Your growing out of it. for me I don't like rap either I used to like Slim Shady and those guys but they can't sing about anything new. You might be in a pahse where you exploring your music tastes take a month break from any Rap and then after a month see if you still like it. They are some pld rap tracks that still get the ear drum not lyrics but the beat. If there was no beat then yeah they would all sound like crap.

Dude, I feel the same way. I don't listen to any of the crap out there now adays. Start listenin to like 2pac, Biggie, Run DMC, Tech N9ne, old Bone Thugs songs, Atmosphere, Ice Cube, Westside Connection, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, Brotha Lynch Hung, Warren G. Go back to the roots, that's what I did, with a few exceptions.

Tastes change as you get older. And, like everyone has said, rap is kind of redundant and tired these days. Same old crap that was innovative 20 years ago, and now rests on those old outdated laurels. You'll still like some of it, otherwise you never really liked it much in the first place and were just posing. But, basically, rap is crap.

Just means you are growing up and realizing whats most important to you. Rappers try to say they are just Poets, maybe so... but they are not representing any great poets of the past.
As you grow up, you start changing your outlook on life and things that you like. Your tastes will keep changing all throughout your life. You never know, you could end up liking Country music in a few years :-)

There's nothing happening to you, rap is just not worth listening to anymore. Most of it doesn't make sense like it used to. Anyone these days can make a rap video and the results are really pathetic.

As you get older, your tasts change. Me, I listen to a variety of things from country, metal, rap, hip hop, pop, R & B, classic rock, etc...
Whenever I get bored of one type of music, I switch. By the time I get back to say rock for example there are different singers and new songs. Another thing is Sirrius, you can pick any kind of music and the good thing is, it isn't the same 10 songs like it is on the regular radio. :)

Okay. Yeah rappers are the most least creative people. Well maybe not least but they arent that creative. I used to be into that stuff too. But then i realized there was alot of better stuff out there. I still listen to it and some of it is really cool, but the majority is.. crap.

Welcome to the world of better music.
