That is just the way it is here. You ask a frivolous question and it is almost a certainty someone will answer it like you are asking the meaning of life.
Ask a serious question, and you might get a frivolous answer.
Don't take it personally. It is what it is.

Maybe they think that you are serious and personal for asking controversial questions so they think they should be serious and personal in their answering. Just an idea.

well sir I think it's because they take p&s as some sort of civil duty. They are trying to help their fellow man. this is serious business.
