I have been to Spain 12 times.

Do you have to choose between one or the other? Keep in mind that you can quickly go from Sevilla to the Costa Del Sol. During the 1992 World's Fair, many people stayed on the coast, and just took the train into Sevilla each day.

Sevilla could be deathly hot in July. I know; I used to run through the streets with the University track team, and sometimes I felt like the soles of my shoes were melting.

By the way, why does it have to be Malaga? Why not Torremolinos or Puerto Banus? I would always opt for the ocean. Those coastal towns really only exist in summer, so if you want a lively time, summer is the season for you. There is a lot of nightlife, and lots of fun during the daytime too.

Why not stay on the Costa del Sol, and then take a couple day trips to Sevilla? You could even spend a night in Sevilla so the trip wouldn't be so hectic. If you can afford it, spend one night at the Alfonso XIII Hotel.

I think that a whole month in Seville would be too much. It's a nice city, but after you've seen the sights, you may get bored.

There is an ancient spanish proverb that says: Quien no ha visto Sevilla no ha visto maravilla.
He (or she) who has not seen Seville has not seen a marvel.
If you like friendly locals, hordes or tourists, ancient architecture, balmy weather then you must see Seville.

Seville is gorgeous. It might be really hot in July, but it's worth it. I went to Spain last summer and it was incredibly hot, but beautiful!
