the marriage of Catherine of Aragon to Henry the eight of England was a good marriage at first she was several years older than her young hubby but after many years several miscarriages and stillbirths with only Mary to show for it the marriage turned ugly. it didn't help that Henry slept his way through the court, finally Henry decided he needed a new wife and because the pope wouldn't grant an annulment Henry broke with the Catholic Chucho and became head of the church of England. Catherine was very devote and raised her daughter Mary to be the same. she was also very intelligent and was the unofficial ambassador from Spain to England.

She was Spanish.
She is the youngest (and favorite) daughter of King Ferdinand of Aaragon and Queen Isabella of Castile.
She was the wife to Henry VIII's older brother Arthur, but Arthur died days later after getting married. After his death, she married Henry VIII.

Catherine had many kids; only Mary I survived. Because she cannot produce healthy children, Henry VIII tried to get a divorce from her (while flirting with Anne Boleyn). She eventually got divorced, and she died a few months before Anne Boleyn was executed.

Married Henry VII, then his brother Henry VIII. Was divorced for the spurious reason that Henry VIII shouldn't have married her, she being his brother's ex wife.
