A couple of years ago we moved to Ireland. While I was sorting the new house I would fly over to see my wife as she was still working for a couple of months in the UK before she moved. I went over to surprise her and she wasn't happy to see me. She received a text message that night from some guy she worked with, saying that he wanted to see her that night and was thinking about her. Well I approached her about this and she informed that nothing had happened yet and she will stop all contact. I text him back asking why he was texting my wife and that seemed to stop it.

Now were living in Ireland and I hate it so much, I miss my friends and going out. My wife goes and sees her family twice a week. Leaving me alone. I have recently started to fly back alot to the UK just to go out. I have told her that I am away to the UK for 6 months to work, but I don't want to return to Ireland everyday I am there I think about leaving and she just says I am being unfair.

Thanks for all the answers, making me think a little more. Just needed to release the burden of living here. I know I must leave here as I don't think I can survive another year. Will she come with me well sometimes it's a yes and other times it's a no. Her friend says I am being unreasonable to take her away from her family after not being near them for over ten years. I am leaving for the UK for a while and that is the only thing that keeps me going. Her family are very protective and I am never allowed to say a bad thing about them. We all have our faults and my family ain't no saints, but I never met a family that bitches about people behind there back so much. To be truthful I think it will be between me and her family and I don't want her to chose.

Marriage is the key! Is it over, because it would seem like that... surely if you care for each other then there must be a way of sorting out this problem why are you not moving back to where you are happiest? It is time to sort out the problems and move on.

It sounds like your lifestyles do not mesh. I don't see how this can work, unless one or both is willing to sacrifice a bit. For her to just flatly say, "you are being unfair" tells me she is not very willing to even work with you on a solution.
