Bahamas Immigration:

"U.S. and Canadian citizens entering The Islands Of The Bahamas as visitors are required to show proof of citizenship with either a passport (current or expired within five years) or two forms of identification, one of which has to have a photo. For example, you may bring your birth certificate and a driver’s licence."

Okay, I defer to Joseph, looked up his information and he is correct. As long as Canada doesn't require you to have a passport to leave the country, then you are okay.

However, if you are eligible for a passport, this day and age it only makes sense to have one, just FYI.
