Its Pretty Normal Wen Babies Stare Into Space, Possibly It Could Be Angels, Babies Can See Things That We Can't See As We Get Older. Also, Its Possible For Children To Play With Dwarfs, Since They Can Only See Them, To Us It Would Look Like They Are Playing By Themselves.

Newborns actually have very bad eyesight around 20/100. They can only focus on objects about 8-15 inches away from their faces in the early stages which is about the distance from a baby's face to its mother's when breastfeeding. It's almost as if nature has made distinguishing mom's face paramount for babies.
Toys with strong contrasting colors, particularly black and white patterns will help your baby focus on things and hold his interest.
So it's not so much staring out into space as it is not being able to focus on things far away and of many colors. Your baby's surroundings probably resemble an impressionist painting or looking outside through a wet window.

OMG people, this is a very common thing for babies to do. They all do it and I bet if you think back real hard, your children did it as well. Some do it more then others but they all do it. Is your daughter/son concerned? Have they asked the pediatrician about this? I wouldn't even be bothered by it, just enjoy him.

Your still blurry to a newborn, so its kinda like there's 3 of you. Their vision will straighten out by about 2 months. Mine used to go cross eyed all the time. As far as angels, thats sweet and I wish that were the real truth.

It's possible. Some say when we get older those ablities are dulled as we grow.
But it's also possible that your little one still can't focus like an older child and that's what he is doing.

at this stage your baby can only see about 10 inches infront of himself,
thats why the perfect feeding/holding position is cradled in your arm because your face is the correct distance from the baby.
also my daughter used to love looking towards lights, windows, anything bright.

To challenge their sight. They are still developing their vision at that age. So they focus on one thing to build the muscles needed to see better. But it is nice to think that they are playing with angels.

I think they see angels too. Or maybe something has caught his eye and he's trying to focus on it.
