First off, there is no guaranteeing that the Flyers will have the #1 overall draft pick as they have adopted the lottery system. (I don't think this has changed) That said, if they do pick first, I think that they take Russian Alexei Cherapanov. Angelo Espisito would probably be their 2nd choice.
This year (figures for Flyer fans), there is no Crosby-Malkin or Ovechkin type of player and it is considered to be a VERY weak draft class.
I think the Flyers will have a 25% chance of picking 1st. I also think that under the system, the most a team can move up is four spots and the most they can move back is 1. Therefore, I think the worst they can do is 2nd spot so it will probably be one of these 2 guys.
Other guys that have impressed me are Pat Kane (U.S born) and James Van Riemsdyk (U.S as well I think).
Other notables that will go in the 1st round are Brandon Sutter (yes-another Sutter-this time a son) Sam Gagner (Dave Gagner's son). BTW-Angelo Espisito is no relation.

Jakub Voracek.
The most polished of all the prospects with an excellent hockey IQ. He's also willing to get his nose dirty and is very clutch. Could use some improvement in his skating though.
I also really like Pat Kane. He's probably the deadliest sniper in the draft as well as the best 1 vs 1 player. The knock on him is that he's only 5'10 and that alone probably doesn't warrant a 1st overall selection.

Draft picks are lottery and so Flyers may still not get first pick despite being the worst team in the league.

If they in fact get the number one overall pick. I'd hope they select Alexei Cherepanov. The flyers could use a talented Russian with great puck handling abilities.

Being a die-hard Flyers fan, i would go for Esposito. He is by far the best prospect. They should try and sign Forsberg in the offseason too.

just because they finished last in the standings doesn't mean they'll get first draft choice. remember they have a lottery before the draft. so they have a better chance of getting first draft choice cause the team will have more ballots in the lottery. but they could get no higher then 5th pick. 1,2,3,4,5.
