I'm 13 years old & am a part of many programs to help others, but I'm starting to think that I'm too young!! I need to live like a normal teen... tell me what you think, please!

Don't "worry" too much because you can't vote for 5 more years but, please, take your education seriously and don't allow anyone to discourage you from being concerned about those subjects--ever. Just by your asking the question tells me that you're more interested in public policy than MOST adults -- which is why American government is so out of control.

My daughter is 13 too. I'll tell you what I tell her; "enjoy your youth but prepare for the future by educating yourself--especially outside of school."

Do what interest you. Who has the right to say what is or is not "normal". You might not be living the life of an AVERAGE teen but being average in this day and time is probably no great achievment. Be yourself and be happy.

The sooner you start to move yourself toward something positive and you like it stay with it as long as it don't make you stressed out or make your grades drop. I really think its awsome that your so young and that you are already so invloved who knows you might become a national Leader one day. Take care and keep your head high

Its never too early, if its something your are interested in, go for it. Who said being a "normal teen" meant not being involved with rights and politics?

Yes, yes, yes.

The more aware and imformed you are, the better.

many good leaders began when they were young.

You obviously have a good heart. Yes, it can be daunting entering the adult world on thier terms,
But I'm sure you will do ok. Yes, you will make mistakes, but that's ok too.

How else are you going to develop in the caring adult you are meant to be.? Go for it.

Good luck

You should always be caring and concered about your future.

That brings empowerment because you feel that the future is in your control, or at least you have the power to influence it.

"Worrying" is fatalistic and disempowering. It weakens people to just accepting what happens.
