i got a question in california (bay area) the I.C.E are raiding peoples houses and asking random hispanics on the street what's their legal status and if they cant prove they're a citizen they arrest them how come they're only targeting hispanics and not canadians or hindu or asian people? what's your thoughts on it and do u think the INS should get away with it without proper warrents.

This answer would actually differ from state to state, but the fundamental answer would be the same. Asking somebody for their identification is not an arrest, no matter how you stack it. It's very similar to driving up to a license check. No probable cause is needed. To take it a step further, if an INS officer finds ANY person without legal identification, they are allowed to detain that person until they can come up with a legal ID. As for targeting hispanics, that's just plain common sense. Hopefully the ACLU or another organization won't jump on this for the publicity. Ask yourself, no matter what ethnicity you are: "Would I be worried if I was stopped by INS and asked for legal identification?". The answer should be no, of course, in which case you have nothing to worry about. Let the INS do their job.

Since the VAST majority of illegals are indeed Hispanic I think INS can feel pretty comfortable with their process. Now if it turns out that none of the people they are targeting are illegals they may have to change their plan. They are out there to catch criminals, it does no one any good if they don't apprehend anyone. Our laws are for American citizens.

Statistically, the majority of illegals are Hispanic.
They should not be arresting anyone without probable cause or a warrant.
