Jeff Garcia is just as old and he was in free agency and no one said he should retire. Favre is already on a team and people says he should retire and he is much better then Garcia. the question isn't really why favre should retire more then why Favre but not Garcia.

ok first of all it is not Favres fault that the MEDIA will not leave him alone about retirement. second of all Favre is STILL one of the best QBs in the league how are you going to say he hurts the team. he is still better then most QBs. And Aaron Rodgers sucks i would not want to leave the team to him. And it is not Favre's fault that the packers drafted Rodgers. he did not tell them to. so don't blame it on him.

Cause there are a lot of haters here. Plus people are probably tired of the annual should he retire or not question. As well as the annual This may be the last game you get to see farve play in comments from announcers and reporters. Personally I think he is still a good qb, and can play for another 2-3 years if he wants. He is not the same QB he was in his prime, but he is still better than most other qbs out there, I would say he is definitely still a top 10 qb and probably 6th or 7th best qb playing right now.

Couple of things:
He has been toying with retirement for the past four years which doesn't allow your program to advance itself. They figured he was done so they spent a first round draft pick on Aaron Rodgers, if back then Brett had told the Packers, "yeah I've got a couple of years left in me" they could have used that pick to improve a number of other positions on the field but Rodgers fell late to them and they figured one year of having him learn under Brett Favre and then we'll be in ok shape. Waste of a first round draft pick.
Then we fast forward to that first camp with Brett and Aaron instead of Favre helping out the rookie like we have seen so many stars Favre did it to a very minimal ammount and when questioned he answered that "its not part of my job to be a mentor to the rookies" Class act Brett
He hurts his team on the field as much as he helps it. But watching the last few playoff games he has been in, I'd say he hurts them more than he helps.
Garcia is a backup who re-energized a team and a city, not a two time MVP who next season will break the all time record for Most Interceptions in a career.

Jeff Garcia is as good right now as hes ever been. Hes a good Qb but no superstar. He will never get a ring. Brett Farve is on of the best to play the game. In his prime he was an amazing and its dissapointing to see him sink to this mediocre level. He should retire and quit thinking about a second ring. Besides Aaron Rogers is a good Qb who has not yet recieved a chance. If Farve would step down and mentor Rogers. Packers could become a competitive team.

because people dont think hes good, and their all wrong. People are jealous of him because he is going to break alot of records, and holds some already. Garcia has been an on and off starter and no one really pays as much attention to him which it the ulitmate reason why there isnt talk about him. But bottom line is Brett can still play and the packers are going to be a team to watch out for next year.

It's about your play on the field. People aren't making a big deal about Garcia because of his play last year. After he stinks it up in TB, the same way he did in Det. and Cle., people will be all over him. Favre is hindering his teams devolpement. With him GB has no chance. He's playing for his own selfish reasons (records). He should retire for the sake of his team.

Yes - the annual "should I retire or not" routine is ridiculous and intended just to bring attention on himself. Garcia does not subject us to such indulgent drama and he also does not throw 22 interceptions per year.

he's just physically older...i mean, he's been taking a beating for the last 16 years or so...especially when you don't miss a game...but i dare someone to find a player who is still as passionate about the game as he is
