what are good exersizes/stretches to do before swimming.
how long of swimming is good enough for exersize..i am currently starting to do every friday, but is that too less?
sorry, this is long. let me know!! thanks

Don't take this the wrong way.............but if you are so good then why don't you already know what type of warm-up exercises to do.

Most swimmers practice 2 to 4 hours daily. For exercise only, about 30 minutes of laps every other day will do.
15 to 20 minutes of stretching, flexing before hand

welp, i'm a pretty good swimmer too. usually i do the splits to stretch out my leg muscles, and back bends (till my hands touch the ground), i do like 10-15 pushups and 20-30 situps then a few jumping jacks and in i go! I usually swim 50 feet laps for 30 minutes then play around for as long as i want after! hope you have eons of fun!

p.s. don't do too many muscle building activities cause remember muscle does NOT float and it make it harder to swim fast, be lean and light and (important) FLEXIBLE. example: olympic swimmers.

Ok try doing your average everyday Sit-ups push-ups and do like stream line jumps. I am a competitive swimmer. I swim 2 hours and do the push-ups/sit-ups for 30 minutes.

If you want to get a good workout from swimming, you need to do it more than once a week. You should at the very least swim three times.

well i've been swimming since 2nd grade and now i'm a freshman in college, i remember back in high school my coach always made us take a dry land practice which consisted of jumping jacks and running around the track field. i guess you can just do normal exercises you do in school to help you warm up before you get in the pool. hope this helps :)

Its a good question. Are u really want to swim again. Inchildhood it is ok to swim but when u are entering in adulthood it is bad for others to swim in same tank.

Before swimming...
STRETCH LIKE A MAD WOMAN!
But not too hard, you might hurt yourself
