I really hope it's not Larry Brown he is very overrated as shown in his stint in New York. I think Rick Adelman would be a great choice he is the ex-coach of the Kings and he's only had 3 losing seasons in 16 years of coaching including an overall record of 752-481 (.610).

This question presupposes a huge problem. If MJ is the one hiring, it doesn't matter who is coaching, the team will still be a failure. You want to talk about overrated, MJ is an overated executive.

Actually you probably want a Larry Brown for a couple of years just because he has a penchant for developing talent. To point to the NY fiasco, you need only look at who was running that club and you'll find the reason for why that team sucked. And don't even piont to IT having the team at the 8th seed because that whole division sucks. Beside they have the 8th seed while under .500. Not sure if Brown still has the drive, but reality is, you want a coach like Brown because he's a teacher. Give him a couple of years with the club to teach the youngster then let him go. Brown isn't going to take you to elite status but he will start you on that road.

Rick Adelman...uh okay. Dude's a descent coach but he is far from elite. He's a good stepping stone to the next coach that will take them to championship level. Fact is, Adelman could not win the big one with rosters that were loaded. The kind of talent he's had to work with on the Portland teams and even at Sac-town indicates this inability. He has always had one of the more talented teams in the league but was never able to get over the hump. Plus I don't think Adelman can develop the young talent that's there at Charlotte.

If you can find a coach that is willing to put up with MJ, then you probably aren't going to find an elite coach. Don't know who you can hire, but you better not ask MJ to run it. He may arguably be the greatest basketball player ever, but he is a horrible evaluator of talent and judge of personel. In other words, good luck with MJ calling the shots--cause you are going to need it.

This is a team with some developing talent that needs a firm, consistent coach that will set and maintain expectations for hard work and not berate the players in the media. NOBODY should have to put up with Larry Brown as their coach. Jim O'Brien might fit the bill--he had Vin Baker show up drunk and still claimed to have not played him some games because of "match-ups." That's class. The former Cavs coach that LBJ was too full of himself to listen to--for having the audacity to suggest perhaps Lebron James could improve his defense--and ran out of town might be a good fit also. Not sure Jordan even could coach, and considering he seems to want no part of a dog-and-pony show this time around, he won't coach the team...

Matt: You are the one who needs to get a life. Why is it wrong to be excited about Cam Newton?? He's a great quarterback. Millions of football fans are obsessed with him. He may want to just "live his life" but he willing gave that up when he joined the ranks of other celebrities and made himself a public figure. Cam has no business whining about his privacy. He freely gave it up. Anyway, no. Cam knows nothing about basketball compared to a real coach.

Look. He saw what Wayne Gretzky did, and what Pat Riley did, so he is going to put that together, and become coach himself.
