It varies with every baby,I gave it to mine at 1 month, some wait til 4 months,if you think she is ready, try a little thin rice cereal at first maybe 2 teaspoons and see how she does with that.

Well even though a doctor told you you can, *personally* i would stop with anything else other than breastmilk or formula until 6 months. My girl is 8 months and I still do not give her juice and only give water every now and then (I am breastfeeding though).
I am not sure how many more feeds a day you can give with formula fed babies? Perhaps up the feeds?
If you really think she needs more and she is not gaining weight and does not have a lot of wet nappies a day then consult a paed or give her some rice cereal (not in a bottle though, using a spoon).
Also, at 3 months I remember my daughter went through a MASSIVE growth spurt and I think I felt like I a milch cow, she was attached to me day and night for about a week!
Good luck and hopefully she settles soon :)

I hope when you say milk you mean formula. Cow's milk is not okay until one year. My daughter was eating over 40 oz a day at 3 months and was only in th 30 percentile of weight. With pediatrician approval, we started cereal. It took her about a week to learn how to use her tongue. Usually babies can use their tongue to swallow between 4 and 6 months. She is now 5 months and is eating veggies, fruit, cereal, and even started a juice cup. I mix her juice with water because its very sweet. Even after you start feeding, 80% of her nutrients should still come from formula or breast milk. I always mix her cereal with formula so she still gets the iron.
Solid foods are recommended at 4-6 months, depending on the baby. If your baby is a supported sitter, she may be ready. If she is eating over 40 oz, she may be ready. Starting feeding before this MAY be risk factors or diabetes and food allergies.
Talk to your pediatrician. All babies are different. Some should wait, mine just refused to wait and she loves her food now.
Oh and yes, Cammomile tea (a teaspoon) is highly recommended for things such as colic, upset stomach, etc. Just do not add honey or sugar and do not exceed 4 oz in one day.

I gave my son a small amount of tea at 1 month by 2 months rice cereal at night and started with applesauce at 3 months. By 4 months he was eating the gerber vegetables too. By the time he was 6 months he was already at 3 solid meals a day most of them home made.
People get real. How do you think your mom raised you or their mom them? Yeah I'm sure your grandmother had formula and all the canned baby food. It was home made. I'm raising my son the way my mom raised me. Oh yeah I forgot to mention, at 3 months my son LOVED yogurt.
If I forgot to mention, at every doc appointment my son's doctor and the nurse repeatedly say how great he is growing. Not fat or skinny.
For the smart one up there, TEA IS CAFFEINE FREE. read the label

I know it has been a long time since I had children but is tea now acceptable to give a 3mo old? I would ask the pediatrician about mixing a little cereal in her bottle. I had to do this with my oldest because the formula alone wasn't enough. Again, its been a while for me but I don't think juice was given until mine were 6mos or more. Rice cereal I think is best because it has the least potential for allergy. Good luck!

What would giving her tea and pedilite achieve? That is really not going to settle her. You do know tea contains caffine which would make her less likely to settle.
Is she still hungry after a feed or just unsettled?
If she is still hungry try giving her 5oz instead of 4. Also make sure you are burbing during a feed, so she isnt having gas build up. Babies will want to suck to ease pain as this is all they know how to do.
If she is just unsettled then maybe try rocking her or wlaking with her over your shoulder and burbing at the same time. Maybe a massage or she just wants to play.
Giving babies food or juice isnt recomended till they are 6 months old. She really doesnt need it at this stage, and her stomach isnt able to cope or digest it properly.
I think you just need to figure out why she is unsettled and try different techniques to soothe her.

If she is still hungry it wont hurt a thing if you mix her up some cereal.Just mix it thin for the first several times.Never give the cereal through a bottle.Always use baby spoons.Giving cereal in bottle will cause her to over eat and might make her sick.

Stop with the teas and pedialyte. She NEEDS the nutrition of the formula (rolls eyes), Check with your peditrician as to adding a small amount of cereal to her diet...only give it from a spoon and bowl and not in the bottle.

try giving her a bit of rice cerial after a feed. start with once a day maybe around 6pm (or around that time when you feed). then increase the amount of times a day you give the rice cerial after the feeds so she gets used to having something else in her tummy. you can also offer some water, she may be thirsty. aslo maybe give her 4.5 oz every feed, she might just need that little bit more.
