It worries me that not enough people take it serious enough and leave the problem for our own children's generation to worry about!

Your question is worded in such a way that prevents honest open and thoughtful discussion. The words 'deadly effects' to describe the results of global warming prevents any really intelligent discussion.
So... let's put the question this way: Am I afraid of the effects of global warming? There.. that reads better and now I can answer.
First... the globe has been warming and cooling for millions of years. I'm sure you've heard of the ICE AGEs which were interspresed between other time periods where the earth was a 'greenhouse'. The dinasaours lived in a time of warmth and then an Ice Age came about and now it's warming up again. That being said... the question is does the make me afraid.
My answer is no. Simply because while there is scientific proof the world is warming up there's really not hard knowledge of what the end result will be. It might be worse.. but then again it might be better.
Now they way you worded your question tends to make me think you have a axe to grind about those who may be 'responsible' for global warming. For this I say, be reasonable. There is more of a case for the methane gas generated by livestock causing global warming than humans. Don't get me wrong, we humans have contributed but we have done so as a global population. The US has been a contributor but has been taking steps for years to reduce this effect such as changing from R-12 to R24 in our ACs and requiring the auto makers produce computer controlled engines that are more environmentally friend. Coupled that with the ever increasing regulation placed on our manufactoring and refining organizations and clearly steps are being taken. Should there be more .. sure.. but the changes should be reasonable and for the right reasons.
If you really want to control pollution and global warming, start your crusade in India and China where the government doesn't give a dang at all.
There's my answer!

No...there are no deadly effects of global warming. It's something that Gore is trying to frighten people with. Over the last 100 years or so scientist said that the global warming wasn't real that we were gonna have another ice age..then they say it is global warming..then most scientist say it's not even jumping 1 degree a year.
Until there is solid scientific proof ..it just all hype by Gore so he has something to do since he lost the 2000 election to Bush !!!!

The latest issue of Conservation Biology examines the viability of the Sinai baton blue and the results of human population pressures. The study predicts that in the absence of global warming, grazing, and plant collection (three activities directly linked to humans) the world's smallest butterfly would persist for at least 200 years. The population could withstand small increases in grazing intensity that would decrease their climate, but not increases in temperature. As the level of global warming raises its impact, extinction rapidly accelerates. This implies "…that there may be an annual average temperature, specific to each endangered species, above which extinction becomes much more likely," authors Martin Hoyle and Mike James state. There is no such threshold of grazing pressure.
The authors mapped the entire global range of this butterfly and obtained data on the intensity of livestock grazing. The Sinai baton blue is one of only two endemic animals in St. Katherine's Protectorate, one of Egypt's most recently designated protected areas. Based on the authors' model, the effect of global warming on the chance of extinction does not depend on the future level of habitat destruction due to this grazing; the growing number of families that live on the protectorate keep a small herd of goats and sheep that graze on the plants the butterflies thrive on. Global warming is the deadly culprit. "If the areas of habitat patches individually fall below certain prescribed levels, the butterfly is likely to go extinct,"the authors conclude.

Not one bit. In fact I contribute to it every chance I get. You see, there is no global warming. You are being fooled. Global warming is a myth, a lie, a waste of time. But, I will never change your mind, so keep on fighting, it's kind of cute.

yes i am but if you think about the apocalyptic effects that might come from it are not to be seen for another 50 years
and scientists everyday are trying to figure something out
like i read about this 1 scientist that thinks if he releases gases into the air that come from fossil fuels will actually lower the global temperatures
so the long term effects might not even happen in our life time or a scientists may find a way to prevent it

A rather leading question. No I am not particularly worried by the prospect of the total extinction of the Human Race taking place at a date to be reached sometime after I have died.

Yes! I'm a PACE (advanced student) and my teacher has been telling us all about it! In 50 years, OR LESS, if we keep using our natural resources like we do, WE WILL NEED 2 OR MORE EARTHS TO SUPPORT US! I'm not going to be ingorant and say I'm not afraid, but I'm not going to be peranoid, and say OMG! THE WORLD IS ENDING! I'd say I'm afraid that we will have to suffer and be in pain, and have the human race die off and have the Earth turn all brown!

umm i think its just a waste of time , so i think you should just get on with your life, because its not real . .
like the only reason for this *global warming* is because we're over using the world resources and we're cutting down all the trees. . .
so just get on with your life and stop fearing this global warming crap. . .
