find software that hide your data on the drive but you cant disable the drive it self if you put in another computer. But learn to find a program that you can put on the device so they cant access it there.

Some USB Drive come with Password protection feature.
These are my suggested ways
1) ZIP it and Password protect it. ( Imagine )
2) Like He Said Use Truecrypt and encrypt the files.
3) You may buy a drive with the password protect system.

You can use something like Truecrypt to encrypt the data on it so that you need a passphrase to decrypt it. But keep in mind that it's not merely "password-ptotecting" the files; there's no way to recover or bypass the password. If you forget the passphrase it's effectively IMPOSSIBLE (given currently available technology) to decrypt the data.
