I would think there is some kind of paperwork from the military giving permission or a clearence to the enlisted person to be able to take a job before retirement. It would protect the military member as well as the company...Any info on this is appriciated.

No, you cannot. You need to have been severed from service no less than six months before you can accept a contract job. Officers I believe it is 1 year. This is to prevent the appearance of a conflict of interest. Like wise the spouse of an enlisted person cannot operate under a contract with the govt. or own a business that competes with locals who work under govt. contracts.

Yes ive done it myself, have your state rep send a letter of deferrment to your unit, if you are on terminal leave, why bother, your gone anyway, with the minimum rank of 0-5,
