Hotels:
Atlantis is probably the best, but there are really nice all inclusive resorts like Sandals a Breezes. The Rui on Paradise Island is really good too and you get to use Atlantis' activites.
Climate:
Seriously, its not that hot. Its hot yea, but I mean its an island so theres that cool breeze always blowing and the ocean is never far away :).
Beach:
Clearest water there is. Beaches are b-e-a-utiful. On some islands, if you decide to go island hopping, the sand is pink! The greatest danger would be a random jellyfish which isnt that bad at all trust me.
Activities:
Nassau has some nice night life. Clubs, parties, you name it. Also, Atlantis has alot of things to do, a nearly vertical slide through a shark tank, a beautiful aquarium, pools out the wazoo, and of course all hotels offer the jet ski, banana boat rides, paddle boats, parasailing anything you can think of. And if you want to/can there are cruises around the beaches where lets just say you have a roaring good time. If your feeling adventurous you can drive around Nassau on mopeds, try to stay close to the ocean though, you may get lost if you dont. Oh yea, Arawak Cay! You can chill with the locals and get some really good and really authentic Bahamian food there and sometimes there are concerts there too. You can also go horseback riding or go on a horse and carriage tour. Alot to do in the Bahamas.

We were there in August and it was very hot and humid. You melt in this kind of weather.
The beaches were white sand and the water was very clear and beautiful color. Temp of water 80's.
We stayed at the Ocean Club on Paradise Island. The best service we ever received staying at a resort in all the caribbean. And we have stayed in alot of resorts. I believe it's owned by the Atlantis.
What activities, fishing, snorkel trips, wave runners, eating,
swimming. All the activities you expect from a Caribbean island.
Good luck in your research.

It's beautiful, you can take the Robinson Crusoe snorkel tour, spend a day in Exuma caves - 38 miles away.....Swim with the Dolphins, see Atlantis...better yet stay at Atlantis!
It's awesome.
=)
Happy planning
