it is an lcd monitor with built in speakers.. and the other day i put it on mute..but now i have turned the sound back on and turned off the mute..it isnt working...everything is on full volume and it is not on mute????? what could it be? please help if you can xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

There is nothing wrong with your computor! You've gone DEAF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

make sure that the mute button is off on both your computer and the lcd monitor. they have their own volume controls. if both are ok without the mute on then check the cable that goes from your audio out on the computer to the audio in on your lcd, it might have come off. the last thing I would look into will be the drivers for your sound but not likely to happen.

The monitor itself might have a mute button. Also, check the mute in the icon tray at the bottom right. Also, check thet the plug is firmly connected to your monitor.

Double check all the leads and settings on your hardware and software. Check you haven't muted the sound settings in control panel. If the problem persists then you will need reinstall your sound driver, or you've got faulty speakers!

goto RUN and type sndvol32 and click ok, then when the sound controls appear make sure there are no ticks in any of the mute boxes, the only one with a tick should be the microphone

the first thing i would do is check to make sure the speaker leads are in correctly
