I just got back from shopping. About a year ago, I bought some size 0 pants that fit perfectly, so I wanted to get another pair. Went to the store and found the pants, exact brand, style and size. I put them on and they're at least two sizes bigger!!! It was a size 0, so there's nothing smaller! I've been having this problem for awhile, size 0's are now too big and pants in the kids section are too short. My weight hasn't changed in years, but I've went from a size 3 to less than 0. Is anyone else having this problem?

I can't help being size 0. My thyroid is overactive, so my metabolism is sky high. I'm really trying to gain weight, I promise!!!

I'm guessing you are in the US, well, I'm in the UK and I know exactly how you feel!
When I was a scrawny teenager I was a size 8 (US size 4), now I have gained a few pounds I find myself hunting the clothes racks for size 4!! (US size 0). I have GAINED weight! And still gone down in clothes sizes. It drives me crazy.

I think the government should crack down on clothes manufacturers and make them print only the exact measurements in the clothes - if guys can buy their jeans in 30" waist 28" leg, why are we girls forced to deal with arbitrary sizes that have ceased to mean anything?

I think we should move to China, Japan or Korea. From what I hear, they still make clothes for small girls, non of this crazy pressure to be a 'real' woman (excuse me? why am I less 'real' because I was born with small bones?) and fit into Dove's idea of beauty (all women of the same height and size, ranging between a 12 - 16. No natural thin girls or naturally large boned girls. )

I should be a UK size 12 (US size 8) and can fit into a UK size 10 (US size 6) lol. So it doesn't affect me so much, but I can understand how it can be aggravating if you are a much smaller size and now can't find sizes that fit.

It also explains why so many people in the US are suddenly a size 0, when they weren't before. Really they are size 2 or 4. Vanity sizing needs to be stopped. I wouldn't mind wearing the size I really am and then maybe people will stop saying US sizes like 8, 10 and 12 are big, when they really aren't.

HTH : )

Hi Jen,
I do not have your problem since I am on the plus side of life BUT I helped run a coonsignment store and found that a lot of smaller women complain about this as well. TRY A 2nd Hand boutique and see what they have on the racks! You'll have to try on and most of the time there is a no refund policy!

Shop a good 2nd hand boutique and shop till u drop.
PS: if you find a shop that has clothes that fit u, ask the manager or owner if they will notify when that particular consigner brings her clothes into the shop!

A good consignment boutique will have stylish, up to date and popular brand names. You can find awesome deals as well. GOOD LUCK!

I'm sorry you can't find your size in stores. Have you tried on line? You could try a site called metrostyle. Just order one pair of pants first to make sure they fit. If they fit then go crazy =~)

What's your secret, how have you been able to stay so small/trim?

1) don't gain weight!!!!!!!!
2)I hate vanity sizing also; I'm a size zero(and love it), some stores sell 00 but that's the smallest size they make. Every ten years companys remove another size, so in 20 years I won't be able to buy anything! I love my body and refuse to change. Since they have been doing this since the 1950s, THINK ABOUT ALL THE WOMEN WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN SIZED OUT OF RANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have problems like that too, since I'm 6'1 tall and fairly thin. I can always find pants that fit in the waist, but they are always way too short. You should special order your pants from a catalog like I do.

I doubt anyone is going to sympathize with a size zero.
