Seems that the movement is losing steam. I suggest we re-group and start a war that will re-write the distorted "history" to the more appropriate "herstory." Along our path to victory, we will take inspiration from daily readings of the works of Sappho and enjoy daily softball tournaments complete with trophies and a keg of beer to tap.
Sounds inticing, sisters?

Your idea is novel, unfortunately reality t.v and really lowbrow culture has seemed to numb the minds of our fellow sisters. Feminism is not a bad word and many women have no idea that the reason they are lawyers, ivy league school students, or even in that high sales position is because of the work of our feminists predecessors. They think its a dirty word or something its crazy and its actually really heart breaking to say the least. I think there is a stigma about feminism and people don't realize that all kinds of women have taken part in feminism:conservative, liberal, religious, atheists, mothers and career women, and gay and straight women. The fact that it is creating such a fuss right now only goes to show how necessary it is. Without it would have only been HIStory, feminism created women studies in which prior to that important women were written out of herstory. Women today have so much more autonomy and choices then our sisters in the past had; however there is still work to do, especially when it comes to the work world and the family. So yes I will toast to your proposition of sisterhood and enjoy the works of Sappho, but not with beer I am a wine person myself (its my drink of choice)..cheers to the Nu Revolution of never forgetting that we were once considered property and the not fully capable humans that we are.

Sorry that we must have a man pretending to be a woman posting this question. This is not what feminism is about and the fact that you even bother to write such drivel shows that you are only trying to inflame and demoralize those that believe in equality. Feminists are not all gay and for you to generalize this just shows the ignorance that you have, or are using to try and slander other feminist with stereotypical nonsense. Maybe you should also learn how to use spell check.

No hon, sorry to break it to you but the fight for women's rights has not been lost. If it seems that it has been losing steam is because feminist movements have already accomplished what we needed most. There are still little things to fight for but women now have choices and opportunities that they have been denied in the past.

Why does there have to be a war? I know some men are assinine, but not all of us are. I really love and respect women, but I think that cooperation between the sexes would be far more beneficial. Why can't there just be humanity, and quit trying to break it down to sex, race, creed, or nationality?

Why? Women have equal rights and can do the same things as men. Why would you want to go to war and try to change all of that? Tell me one area where women are not treated the same way as men, or that women do not have the same potentials as men. Just one area.

Women get equal pay for equal work. The "disparity" comes in when you factor hours actually worked in a certain time frame. A man working 60 hours a week for 5 years is going to earn more than a woman working that same job 40 hours a week for 5 years...if you do an hourly average, of course it's going to look like there's a difference!

The reason woman dont make as much as men...is they either A dont work for it, or B dont ask for it.
You can enjoy your beer (such a vile drink for a woman anyway) and your softball...I'll stay in my kitchen..the world is so dark and scarey outside of it..

This "war", as you so call it is lost. And that is because feminists have nothing left to say anymore. It's just the same old s**t! People are starting to realize what a farse it is these days with people Hellery Clinton adding to the mix. IT'S OVER! HOORAY!
