i had to reread you r question to stop saying huh?
but it does remind me of a I LOVE LUCY episode where Lucy wants Ricky to learn proper english, and ricky complains why is there so many different ways of spelling words. idk whatever

Some people are lazy. Some don't know any better and some people are just learning the Americanized English which is the hardest language to learn. We come up with new words for things just about every week.
In England, booty is a pirate's treasure. In America, it's someones bottom. In England, a bum is someones bottom. In America, it's a lazy jobless person.

English is one of the hardest languages to learn even if we write it all of out lives.No other language does this have one word spelled differently for different reasons.
