Why are some white people Two-Faced and phony at work?

I'm a black Teacher and I've been very, very nice to the other Teachers--mostly white women. I've volunteered to help them on projects and always greet them with a smile. But I recently found out that many of those white women were going behind my back and reporting every mistake I made-- and even lied to the Principal about me--which landed me in trouble (all the white these same women made 100 times more mistakes than me).

Its shocking because these same women smiled in my face and pretended to be my friend --but were stabbing me in the back !! They give off this nice image to the world--but they act like devils behind closed doors...

So, I just wonder: Is it a part of white culture to be very fake on the job--while stabbing people in the back? I think this is a common problem on many job sites.

I have white people in my family whom I love--so please dont think I dont like white people.

These ladies may have racist motivations. But, they may not. They may be picking on you for another reason, possibly because you present yourself as having a chip on your shoulder, or, because you are overly helpful and generous, or, because you try to please others too much, or, some other aspect of yourself that attracts the sharks. A hard lesson for nice people to learn is that other people, when in groups, behave without honor and common decency, despite all the efforts made by nice people to get along. No matter how civilized you behave, no matter how just and generous and helpful you are, that will not make you safe in groups. You might try an assertiveness training course, mostly to form a self-evaluation from a brand new perspective. Nice people aren't ready to hear the best advice in the beginning because they are still clinging to the lament that everyone can't get along in kindly, productive ways. That lament always proves futile. Nothing good will come of it. It will only hurt you. But, if I could give you any advice at all, it would be to suggest spending less energy in being upset about these sharks and spend more energy on promoting yourself, sounding your own trumpet, networking for alliances and otherwise get into the dirty game that we all have to play to stay out of the clutches of sharks. There is honor out there. Don't ever be dishonorable or nasty yourself. Don't be someone who tears other people down or backstab or disparage anyone. Take the high road and empower and strengthen others. You'll become a leader for that effort and rise above the animals. Keep race out of it, even if that's the problem. If you are ever discriminated against at work due to suspected or blatant racism, get an attorney immediately without discussing this with anyone at work and sue their pants off. Keep your chin up and your nose clean. Never let them see you cry or bowed. Be a lady of honor and integrity.

Well since the fact that you have white family eliminates the chance of you being racist, why must the fact that all these women are white have anything to do with anything? So what if your mistakes are reported? They may report every other persons mistakes as well. If it's behind your back how can you be absolutely sure what's going on? Since MOST of them are white, there is no black person variable to even it out, therefore there can be no debate about the characteristics of some WHITE people, just the characteristics of some annoying teachers.

And since you wonder so much about the white culture, no, it is not a part of the white culture to be fake on the job, it's not a part of any culture, it just happens to be apart of SOME people's character.

Try rephrasing the question next time so you don't sound so racist and ignorant.

Dont worry your not the only one. Most problems I've had have been from white people too. But dont expet everyone to give you a free ride or like you just because youve been oppressed. It doesnt work like that. Are you sure it's just the white woman, it's prbably the same reason that blacks are two faced and phoney at church. The same reason it's o.k. to live like a wannabe O.G. pimp daddy through out the week and to be a holy roller on sunday. Maybe the jury's out and they think your fake. Don,t worry I'm a devil to. Maybe someday youll wake up and realize that not everyone is out to get you, and don't sweat the small stuff if your a great teacher then you should have no worries. I do not believe that it is part of the white culture. I have experienced this more with stuck up upper class women, both black, white, etc. My husband is a nurse. He thinks that women in general are more two faced. I would transfer to a different school. I also am a teacher. My principal is a black woman. We have black, white, and hispanic teachers...and it is like a big family. I like and respect everyone there. Good luck.

Maybe they do it for the same reason that blacks, Mexicans, Mexican'ts, Japenese, English, Scottish and the Irish are two-faced. Its freakin' human nature and probably has nothing to with the fact that you're black, even though black people tend to make everything about the fact that they're black........ Maybe its because you're extremely hot, and the rest of them are a bunch of step-drag and droll monsters. Maybe its because you suck as a teacher and maybe its because you're a better teacher than they. Who the hell knows. I'm surprised, quite frankly, that an educated educator would resort to a Yahoo! answers message board for no other reason than to simply validate her point that white people are still the monster under the bed. If I were you and I knew that other faculty members were dogging me behind my back, I'd tell them all to go f**king pound salt. On the other hand, if I were you my clothes probably wouldnt fit, so who knows.

It is not just white women. Women of all races do this. I do not but a lot of them do. They say women are their worst enemy. There is also a saying that women could rule the world if they wanted but it would never happen because women are to competitive with each other. I do believe you they are like this backstabbers, gossip about each other and they are doing this to you in union but they will turn on each other in a second. They should be ashamed because these women are teaching children. I feel bad for you maybe you could talk them with the principle and get to the matter. It is worth a try and i would also ask if this has happened before with these women.

Probably the same reason that black people are two faced. It is not an issue that's specific to white people. People of all races do this. As a white woman, I can tell you this is not just the white culture.

I have both white and black friends. And I know for a fact that all races do this! The pretenders don't want to found out. If you are honest you will agree that black people do this too.

I usually run across the same thing on and off of the job. I believe they do the same thing to each other as well. That's why I prefer the "hood." If people don't like you there, they let you know, for the most part. There are fake people every where though. Middle/Upper class blacks will do the same if they think you're ghetto.

I'd hate to assume it was because of your race. Are you the only black person there? If so, does this happen to anyone other than you? If your answer is yes to both of these, they most likely have a problem with your skin.

The white people are following a manual called how to piss black people off. I'M KIDDDING. haha. but for real, some of everybody (whites, blacks, Mexicans, gays, insurgents) are one way or another on the job or anywhere else.
