Valve cover to vacuum port on or near throttle body base. It relieves pressure in crankcase so seals don't blow out and cause oil leaks. It's a must have item hooked up.

The PCV valve on any car goes from the crankcase to the intake, and oil should not be coming out of it. A small amount of gasoline, exhaust gas, and oil residue will come out but it should be all but unnoticeable.

the positive crankcase ventilation valve is inserted in the valve cover........the hose lead,s [from the pcv] to a vacuum port on the intake manifold............you need to see if someone tried to bypass it.........for what reason ......can only be imagined.
