I am in a problem my mom bought a phone for my sister and I to share it is on a 2 year plan my sister lost it in 6 months and (she dose not get a hoot about it) I being the teenager obliviously am mad and I want to either find the cell (which I personally put alot of work into finding it and my sister none) but it was in vain. so the question is supposedly a replacement (new) phone is about 200 dollars but is there a way to but a preowned phone cheaper? And have it on the plan? This would be a replacement I personaly hope to find it but I am discouraged and I would like to pay out of pocket to get a phone. could I buy a preowned phone? Or do I have to pay about 200 buckso get a new replacement. help!

you can get a pre-owned one on ebay but if you do you have to make sure it's compatible with verizon. talk to your verizon rep. sometimes verizon stores actually have preowned selections

Doesn't sound like she had it long enough to upgrade...no insurance... you wouldn't be able to get a replacement without giving a dameage phone... you may want to check to see if any of you lines is elegible to upgrade if so upgrade that line and give her the old phone... you could purchase a phone for full retail they start @ $129.99 and up and then you could add insurance on new equipment only ... if you go to ebay or other sites that is fine you just want to make sure the equipment is not stolen b/c if it is it won't be able to activate on the network to check this get the esn number and call customer service 800-922-0204 or *611 and asked to check to see if you would be able to activate an equipment off ebay... I have had customer by equipment and it is stolen and can not go on the network and he had no way to return because if was phone ebay... vzw doesn' t operate off SIM CARDS so don't worry about that.

as a verizon wireless sales rep, i would recommend jus putting up the money for a new phone. (just because it comes with a warranty and you know if there is any problem with them verizon will take care of it) if not, we do offer a "fru" phone. basically is a replacement phone for $90 they are refurbish(meaning there was a problem when they manufactured the phone but went back and fixed it but cant sell them new) try to stay away from used phone because most of the time they go bad and you are in the same situation! good luck

You can get a phone now at 2 year contract price it will just extend your contract 2 years from today or the day you get it.
I'd say if your sister doesnt care why should she have one. If she really wanted it she would be looking for it. Discuss this with your mom and maybe she wont let your sister use it.

The cell phone company is out to rip you off (replacement phones are how they make their money). Try ebay. You will need a replacement SIM card however, which the company should provide at no cost.

Just make sure whatever phone you buy was originally linked up with verizon, or has been unlocked.
