Dont you think Nicholas Cage's performance was good in ghost rider, especcially when he turns to the rider for the first time. I think it was great and convincing as it shows that hes not afraid of the people watching. What do you guys think?

Read somewhere on the web. Cage put in some of his own habits in the movie. (ex. He likes to eat jelly beans out of martini glasses, watch monkeys, and listen to Karen Carpenter) I'm guessing to tone down the chatacter. Blaze is an alcoholic in some earlier issues.

He plays the role perfectly. Cage brought the Johnny Blaze of the comics to life.
Does this mean that his character could be a little cornball at times? Yes, but anyone who grew up reading comics knows they can tend to be that way. Ghost Rider was a great adaptation of the character from the comics.
My only real complaint was the acting of Eva Mendes.

nicholas cage is one of my favorite actors. any role he chooses he plays that character convincingly. even though the movie may be bad. (ghost rider) bad movie with good graphics = so so at best. but the acting which is what your asking about is spot on.

It wasn't his worst role, but it definitely was not his best. The movie itself had somewhat cheesy lines, as most comics do, but I'd say most of his acting in that movie was believable.
