Absolutely.....hence the saying "learning the hard way." Bad things suck when they happen but ultimately teach you a great lesson.

One time a 120 Gig external hard drive gave up the ghost and died on me 3 months after purchase. The next day I went back to the retailer with my receipt and was expecting no help since it was already past the 30 day return. They where so cool and where going to give me store credit. So I went over to the hard drive section and found a 160 Gig hard drive for the same price as the 120Gig. they let me have the 160 Gig for my troubles and I was very thankful.

I laugh at my troubles , I do not let nothing get me down , My son is almost 15 , he wanted to drive my Explorer around my property , he gave it too much throttle while backing in the mud , slammed my truck in to a tree , I have to replace the car , but I am still laughing I do not have full coverage , the car was just paid off. my house could burn down , as long as my kids are OK I will laugh about it . I meet everything that comes my way head on .. then laugh at it , and move on ..

At the time I was experiencing the troubles...I was far from grateful. However, after the trouble past, and I calmed down to reflect about the whole situation...I was very grateful...because I felt like making it through those hard times made me much stronger and more confident. I feel as though I finally "found myself" after I triumphed over my problems. Now I feel as though I can handle almost any situation.

Yes yes yes and yes!!
I feel so accomplished having come through all of the troubles and it sounds so, so cliche but it all makes you stronger.
You learn so much of people and life you can come to accept what lies ahead and deal with it more efficiently!
At the time you can hit such low states of mind and feel so desperate that when you finally get over it all it's such a huge triumph and relief that you feel even better than you did before.. even when it's not resolved, you feel it easier to cope with and handle.

I don't know if grateful would be the correct term, but the bad times make you appreciate the good that much more. And, regardless of how bad off your current status, if you look around a little, you can always find someone who isn't as fortunate as you.

yes, because it made me the person I'm today! I know I can take any adversity in life! I came to America on my own with 19 dollars in pocket, didn't know the language, and I made it anyway. I survived on sheer guts and and streetsmarts....
