1.How or why did Christian Bail know about "tesla" when he gave Wolverine the paper with "tesla" on it .
2.Why did Wolverine have to make a new clone for every act and then kill them? (obviosly the machine used in the show wasnt the actual clone machine, since the real one was a smaller one in a box somewhere)
3.Did Christian bale have a twin or a clone ? (people say that he had a clone from tesla too, but how would he afford it and why would he be so stumped by Wolverines "50 yards in 3 seconds", if he already knew that tesla couldve just made him a clone"
4.Why did Cutter(old guy) want to destroy the machine ? And if he knew all along about the cloning machine, why was he so shocked that wolverine was still alive (if he knew) ?
5.So who knew how much, all along and how ?
*many things point to Christian Bale not having a clone
1.The machine hadnt been built yet
2.They wouldve thought the same way (remember one told the other to drop the wolverine thing and not go to his shows again?)

1. I think or believe he wanted to see if Angier(Jackman) would become soo obsessed with gaining revenge over Borden that he would go to Colorado and spend a fortune for nothing.
2. He made them and killed them to get Borden to go downstairs b/c he knew Borden loves finding out the secret to every trick. He wanted to frame Borden for a murder he did not committ in a bit of revenge over the death of his wife among other things.
3. He had a twin. Watch the very last interaction between the two at the end.
4. The machine reminded him of his ol' friend. Why keep something around that would only remind him of that dreadful day.
5. I'm not sure I know what ur asking here.

1. Christian Bale met him after the fair event thingy...when Tesla was refusing to come out, and the audience kept saying "that's not safe"(the electric current).
2. Because he thought it was the best way to do the transforming man trick...and draw Christian Bale out to want to try and figure out the trick. the box was pretty big... and Tesla said his assistant was sending him instructions so he could of sent him the wires and stuff as well.
3. Christian Bale had a twin brother. They switched off playing Falcone and the Professor.
4. Cutter wanted to destroy the machine because he didn't want the Lord to have it because he didn't know the Lord was actually the Great Dantone himself.
5. He says he has a twin after he shoots Wolverine in the basement. He explains everything...WATCH THE MOVIE AGAIN AND ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION!!

1. Well, I think Cutter has something to do with this
2. The clone was a product of the machine. He didn't have a choice, and he didn't want to risk other people catching on to the trick (or "prestige") if they were to find a bunch of Hugh Jackmans walking around
3. Christian had a clone.
4. Cutter was in on the Christian Bale's secret and didn't want this to happen again.
5. Cutter knows more than he is letting on. I don't have a definite answer to this, but that's what I think. I wish they would have gone into Cutter's background more.

wow. good questions. i have the same ones! i just saw the movie last night and while i was bored in the beginning and wondering how long this would be, i found i really got into and liked it. afterward though, my husband and i kept asking these questions. he said it was a twin but i think it was a clone. my only reasoning there is that the clone/twin (who was in disguise) didn't show up (that i can remember) in the beginning of the movie. only mid way did he become a character you saw often. and yes, i also wondered why Cutter didn't know about the clones. i think b/c the movie jumped around past, present, past again, that it made it harder to follow a time line. w/out a more exact time line, the questions you ask are hard to answer. but that is part of what made the movie so good. if you leave the movie in shock, amazement or wanting to see it again to find out the surprises....it's just that much better!

First of all, "Wolverine" 's name is Hugh Jackman. Now to answer your questions.
The scenes in The Prestige are not filmed in sequence. It uses what I call "sleight-of-hand storytelling". You need to pay close attention to detail in order to tell what happens when. One good way to gauge what happens when is by paying attention to the age of the little girl and by remembering when it was Christian Bale's character had his fingers blown off.
It's not told whether he has a clone.
Hugh Jackman's character killed off his doubles because every time he used t he machine, a double was produced. Imagine all the doubles he'd have if he performed 3 shows a week for 6 months!
My recommendation is to go back and watch the movie again. Make note of the small details, and you'll figure out a LOT. But remember- a good magician never reveals his tricks. This movie is no exception.

HUGE SPOILERS! DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE MOVIE!
1) he had attended the science fair that Tesla was going to apper at. the one with the big lightning machine that scared everyone away.
2)the machine he used in the show was the real one. one copy of himself fell through the trapdoor, and the other appeared off in the distance, just like the cats.
3)It was a twin brother. he never met tesla in person, and had no idea how the machine worked.
4)he wanted to destroy it so that no other magicians would become obsessed with it. he didnt want to see more magicians end up like the professor and the great dantaun. he did not know that it produced clones, he thought it actually teleported Hugh Jackman. thats why he was surprised when he saw him later.
5)My roomate and i figured out the twin brother in disguise trick, because one would act angry, and the other was nice. we were both surprised by the teleporting man trick. my other roomate called the water tanks trick, but was fooled by the brothers.
