I only have 2 hours there as part of a school trip, and I can't leave Fisherman's Wharf itself. I'm looking for good clam chowder or fish and chips that is inexpensive. Thanks!

Eat from the stands right on the wharf. It is the least expensive and very authentic. There are benches and some tables and it is great fun. My favoriate restaurant is Scoma's, but it is very expensive. So go for the outdoor eating. Have fun!

They have their SF sourdough bread bowl with clam choweer in iit on the menu. Try it. They are usually busy so get there as soon as you can to allow enough time to eat.
