Seem like question like this pop up a lots recently. OK, heres' the story : Intel Dual Core is an older technology (call Pentium D) with 2 cores. The Core 2 Duo is the newer processor, also 2 cores, run cooler, much faster and it can process instructions about 4 times faster per clock than the older Pentium D

core duo one is a 32 bit architecture and the core 2 duo is a 64 bit architecture. That means that the processor handles 64 bits ( a bit is a one or a zero, a byte is 8 bits) of information at a time.

a 64 bit processor needs a 64 bit operating system, such as Windows Vista or a comparable version of Linux. When It comes down to it, go for the core 2 duo.

Core 2 is a lot faster. I bought a laptop with dual and it was running slow , i returned it, and i got the core 2 and it was a lot better. Its worth the extra money.

core 2 duo is much better. Its an upgrade to the regular dual-core.
