While I am a retired military man and that usually pigeonholes me as a member of the conservative right, I find John McCain a charlatan and a man who speaks out of both sides of his mouth.
His positions constantly change, and he is for sale to the highest bidder. I think he has outlived his usefulness in the US Government and does not deserve to be President.
Barack Obama, on the other hand is an enigma. A fresh new face, a fresh new view and a varied enough background to be a potential asset to the US by resolving a lot of the world's negative opinion of the Bush White House.
I would like to know more about him. I have looked at his bio and his voting record, and I see some pretty good stuff there. I am still waiting for him to come up with a way to pass Hillary Clinton in the polls, but he may just end up riding into the White/Whorehouse on her skirt tails as her VP.

Neither. I think Mcain has proven he is all over the place on issues and would not be an effective president. I do not want someone with only a legislative background like Obama and with so little political history to base my decision on. The same with John Edwards who was a one term senator and an ambulance chasing lawyer before that.

I much respect John McCain and his contribution to this country, but I would vote for Barack Obama. I've read his agendas and they are fresh and workable.

If those were the choices (God forbid), I'd choose the lesser of two evils, McCain...
PS: although I disagree with his conclusion, I like John Doe's reasoning.
