I'm somewhat experienced in booking rock bands at clubs & festivals, but I have a friend that does electronica music performances - kinda on the experimental side. He seems to think his stuff would go over well on college campuses - I think he may be right...

but this is new territory for me! Also been a loooong time since I've been in college. Is there a person or department that is pretty much standard across the board for contacting at colleges and/or universities? A Dean of Entertainment (lol) or maybe a Events co-ordinator etc? While we're at it - a master list of places that book music for the students would be awaesome. Thanks!

It varies from school to school.

Often, it'd be the Dean of Residential Life or Campus Activities Coordinator/Director or Events Director or something along that line. The office would almost always be Residential Life (or similarly-named) on all but the biggest universities.

By the way, if your friend is in the New England area (notably MA), and is interested in performing at a small liberal arts college, you should e-mail me through my profile with a link to his music. Right now, my college hires some pretty awful bands (personal opinion only) and could do with something different. I can then put you in-touch with our Campus Activities Coordinator.
