Okay, I've narrowed my laptop search to two. Which one is better? I write, I use the internet, I watch movies, I travel a lot so it has to be durable, I play games, and I listen to music. I love the tablet, they're both the same amount, and I can get the Asus in pink (I think). Here are the links

Wait, nevermind, I can't get the Asus in pink. But still, which one should I get?

I know nothing about computers or laptops, too.

hands down go with the asus one from best buy. it has a better cpu, more memory, a better video card, and a bigger hard drive. its MUCH better than the other one, no comparison.

EDIT: i just say the responses. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOUR PEOPLE.

look at this comparison:

(this is the structure i used to setup the comparison)
catagory: [asus]-[toshiba]
exmaple: memory: [2GB(so the asus has 2GB of ram)] - [512 MB(so the tobisha has 512 MB of ram)]

cpu: [Core2Duo 2.0 GHz]-[Core2Duo1.66 GHz]
memory: [2GB]-[512MB]
screen: [15.4"]-[14.1"]
hard drive size: [160GB]-[80 GB]
optical drive: [ DVD±RW/CD-RW]-[ DVD±RW(dual layer)/CD-RW]
graphics: [NVIDIA GeForce Go 7700 512 MB]-[Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950 128 MB(integrated graphics)]
wireless: [built-in adapter+bluetooth]-[built in adapter]

so bascially, the ASUS is MUCH better at everything except the optical drive, by TONS. the toshiba doesn't even have a real video card, its got some integrated piece of crap! plus, the asus hard drive has TWICE as much space on it as the toshiba.

so how could any of you idiots of possibly have recommended the toshiba????!

to the original poster: get the asus, it's much better than the toshiba by light years.

I'd go with the Asus. By Rabid's comparisons I take the Asus hands down. it is better on practically everything except the doble layer dvdrw but common I don't think you will ever use it. I don't use mine due to the high cost of double layer dvds.

good luck

Feature wise I'd go with the Asus, but Toshiba has a reputation for being very reliable, however their customer service sucks. So in the end analysis, I'd be more inclined to go with the Asus - they've been making system boards and clones for a long time, so you will be getting a good product.

Get the Toshiba. The only thing I don't like about it is that the screen is a little smaller than the Asus.

get the one from best buy. its faster, holds more memory, the memory bus speed is faster and it has wireless in wifi and in bluetooth. the other one is just expensive because it is a tablet pc. i personally would get an alienware laptop though.

AT THAT PRICE YOU CAN GET A BETTER COMPUTER, FOR HEAVENS SAKE, THEY DONT EVEN GIVE YOU A GIG OF RAM. WHAT A RIP OFF, LOOK INTO A SONY VAIO, OR EVEN A DELL WITH ALL THE TOPPINGS, TOSHIBA IS REALLY GOOD TOO.
