Hello,

I had a 2D ultrasound done and was told the baby was 6 weeks old +/-
4days. And that gave me an EDD of May 27, 2007.

Then I had a 3D ultrasound done when the baby was 18 weeks and was
told the baby's EDD is May 23, 2007.

And yesterday, I had another 3D ultrasound done (30 weeks based on the
May 23rd Due Date), but the nurse told me that based on the
measurements, my baby is one week behind, it shows that it's 29 weeks
so that will make the EDD May 31, 2007.

So which EDD is most accurate? And if my baby is born on May 23rd,
does that mean my baby will be really small?

i don't know what AUA ability yet you should truthfully bypass by ability of your very last menstrual era. The ultrasound in undemanding words shows you the way vast the newborn is at this level. My due date is fifth of November so i'm 34 weeks 6 days alongside yet in accordance to my very last 2 ultrasounds my infant is two weeks a million day ahead so he's measuring 37 weeks. bypass by ability of your LMP. that's a lot more beneficial precise. truly you've the newborn at any time, that's all an estimate so that they basically use the EDD so that they know at the same time as to set off or once you're too early particularly than some thing else. sturdy success with each thing :)

The May 27th ultrasound is the most accurate. Here's an exerpt from Dr Sears' Pregnancy Book:

Ultrasound is particularly helpful for estimating the delivery date for women with confusing or irregular menstrual periods. The accuracy of ultrasound varies with different stages of pregnancy. During the first twelve to thirteen weeks of pregnancy, ultrasound dating will be accurate to within a few days of baby's actual age. At sixteen to twenty weeks, the margin for error is a week to ten days. By the third trimester, ultrasound estimates of baby's age may be as much as three weeks off.

The first ultrasound is usually the most accurate, I think to within 3 days, the 18 week ones can be out by a week, and 30 weeks, is just really a guess.
The babies all start out very similar sized, but then have growth spurts, grow at different rates, just like people. So the further along you get the more inaccurate it is.

hi. Im due around the end of April to the beginning of May and they have changed my due date 6 times already. By my first US i should be due May 1st -7th by my 2nd US i should be due on April 24th-27th. Also they cant decide when i got pregnant since my cycles were so messed up. I know I didnt get pregnant past the 25th of July because thats the day my BF left for Iraq. So they decided to just use the 25th as my conception date which gave me a due date around the 24th of April. So...honestly the due date doesnt really matter..its only a guess. Good luck

How irritating is it when they keep changing your EDD? I wouldn't worry about it too much though as it's only changed by a maximum of 8 days. A baby can be born any time between 37 and 42 weeks and still be considered full term.

From the 23rd to the 31st is only a week. when estimating your due date, it's ALWAYS give or take a week anyway, even if you know the moment you conceived.
A due date is not a royal summons, it's more like a guideline.
