Has nothing to do with the state. The "legal" age to rent a car is the same as the legal age to sign a contract obligating you financially -- 18. But, most car rental companies consider drivers under 25 too high a risk.

Just because they can legally rent to people between the ages of 18-24 doesn't mean they are required to.

You need to check with the specific rental company you wish to rent from.

Different rental agencies have different minimum ages.

Most depend upon the "Age of Majority" of the state which would be the legal age you can enter into a legal contract.

My own states "Age of Majority" being 19...you cannot rent a vehicle until that age. Some agencies, despite the Age of Majority mandate 21 years of age before rental.

Hope this helps...best wishes!

The age to rent a car depends on the car rental company. I think most car rental companies will charge to young renters insurance if you are under 25 years old.

Depends on the policies of the car rental agency. Most require you to be 21, and those that don't have specific guidelines and additional insurances that must be taken for a driver under 21.
