the best rides at Alton towers in my opinion are Rita queen of speed she shoots you out at 0 100 in 80 seconds and it is the best g force ride i think at Alton towers the sheer speed leaves you speechless and once you get off of it you will be queueing for it again and again Nemesis is a ride that i think you will enjoy it starts off slowly and you think great this is fun hen it drops you down and starts twisting upside down and the sheer excitement you get on this ride is unbelievable its another Ride that once you ride it you will want to ride it again oblivion is another ride that i think leaves your stomach behind at the start you think every things OK as your going along then all of a sudden you are hanging over the edge and your seat actually makes you feel like your going to fall out and then whoosh down you go through a smoke tunnel in the dark then out the other side i said i would never go on It again but Ive been on it 67 times in the last couple of years it is well worth going on believe me when you get to Alton towers get a map as the rides are in different parts of the park and decide what you want to go on Rita queen of speed has the most ques and that would be the ride i would go on first check out Alton towers website www.altontowers.co.uk and you will get an idea where all the rides are

I went for the first time last June we went with a coach full of friends ,you should go on the Internet on the Alton towers site they have all info there you can also view videos on the ride and you can plan your day i went and got fast track tickets they are about £5 and if you dont like Queueing you just use the fast track lane and you pass all the people in the normal que you get some dirty looks but that's what paying a fiver is all about you can use it on about four rides.Air is a virtual flying ride ,Rita breathtaking ,oblivion dark wet and fast ,Nemesis good, rapids very funny, rip saw ,.so look at the site and plan your day as there are different areas for different rides ENJOY!.

Well, then, pick the side of the park that you want to head to first.

Either go with those who'd steer you toward Oblivion, or head the way that I'd go.

I'd start with Air/Nemesis since both are great rides and on the same side of the park. You can always journey into Oblivion later in the day.

Just be sure to stretch before hand. It's a bit of a jog and you don't want to be pulling any muscles. Especially as large of a park as Alton Towers is.

Have a blast!

i prefer to advise the journey referred to as Air in case you like the sensation of flying however the subject is that the lines for this rides an fairly long you be waiting for hours to get on so i propose you to devise out what rides you going to bypass on first. i'm hoping this has helped and characteristic a astonishing time at Alton towers :)

There are 6 top roller coasters
•The Smiler: Has 14 inversions (world record).
*•Oblivion: The world's first Dive coaster, Dive angle of 87.5 degrees.
*•Air: World's first successful Flying coaster (but really it was the first as other attempts failed). Has 2 inversions, gives the sensation of Flying and well designed track layout (all of them do really).
*•Nemesis: The first Suspended multi-looping coaster to be built outside the U.S. And the 2nd of it's kind. It has been dubbed the best of it's kind and amongst the top 25 world roller coaster polls. Has 4 inversions, riders suspended underneath track.
•Rita: A Rocket coaster that goes from 0-60mph in 2 seconds. You race around the Dark forest section of the park. Formally known as Rita: Queen of speed.
•Th13teen: A partially dark coaster with supernatural theming by which riders decend vertically in a dark crypt. It is the first Coaster to have a free-fall element.

Queues can be long except for coasters I marked *

Rita-Queen Of Speed. Oh My God. Lots of build up, but over very quickly. Actually felt sick with dread before getting on but had to go straight back to the end of the queue afterwards!
Nemesis is like an old friend and Air is lovely. Freaks you out a bit at the beginning (being turned on your face!) but a really nice ride. Have fun.

Nemesis, The Corkscrew, Oblivion, The Grand Canyon Rapids (for the wet factor), The Black Hole (thats the one thats completely in the dark), Air.

It is very well spread out though so get a map when you get there to plan your route. They do have a cable car system too to help you get around areas of the park. Good luck and have fun :)

I went a few years back and there was this coaster ride that you do in the dark all you hear is it rising and rising then WHOM down you go.
Also it sits two to a seat one in front and one behind I remember I got really lucky and this amazing girl (I was a boy at the time) sat in front of me so I was real cheeky and pretended scared and hugged her ti-ts! while we were going down. I had to buy the picture too so I could remember the experience for the rest of my life. No idea what it's called but go on and hope for a beauty behind you in the queue so you can go behind her in the ride.
