I don't know about music at my funeral , I will have a couple of girls that are going to be serving drinks ,and wings at my "see you on the other side party"( funeral) I want the guests to pick music that best describes their memory of me , My friends have said everything from Amazing Grace to Wildside by Motley Crue.. They are coming to say farewell to me ,so it is only right they pick the farewell music .. the song list will be playing on the nights of receiving friends ,and family at my farewell party ..I refuse to have a funeral . I do not know when I will die , but I do know I will one day , so I have already made my final arrangements , and I have the deed to my final hole .

If I ever find out when I'm going to die beforehand, I'll make a mix cd with a lot of songs- like Sigur Ros' Staralfur, and Iron and Wine's Naked as We Came, and The Beatles' Blackbird- and John Lennon's Imagine... I could think of a lot more, but I'd never settle on one, so I'd just have a mix on repeat and it could be played low with people getting up to say something if they feel like it.
IF they feel like it. I'd like to switch up the way funerals go so it's more about the person that died and less a public speaking fiasco.

That IS a morbid question!!! I feel sad just thinking of it...sad for my children having to listen to it....And as i wouldn't be aware what tune was being played i wouldn't care...just something that eased others pain and helped them through the sorrow....God! HOW DEPRESSING!!!!

My hearing isn't any too good now. It will be even worse at my funeral, so it doesn't matter. They could bang on a tin wash tub with a steel pipe for all that I would care.

A few years ago I learned a song entitled "God and God Alone". I was a member of our church choir, and I had it played at my wedding, and I'd love to have it played at my funeral, if I got so fancy as to have a funeral with some music played at it. God Bless you.

I'd probably have some music play the whole time- no preacher. For sure the playlist would include Sunrise by nora jones, big rock candy mountain...
