I've build computers and i have used both types of processors. intel has the best anti-crashing processors for example the processors with the NX technology which help protect your computer. intel is commonly used in all business pc's and home pc's. Now amd. amd is the best processor to choose when your goal is to build a pc strictly for gaming. i mean yeah you can put amd's on regular business pc's too but it wouldn't use its full power. amd's also do more work per cycle which makes their 1.8 GHz equal intel 2.5- 2.8 GHz. i personally like intel better since i am not a gamer at all and they are efficient when overclocking (except the prescott core). they also offer me the protection i need since i dont like my computer crashing every 4 months. in conclusion AMD=GAMER PC; INTEL= WORKING PC

They both make phenomenal CPUs.

PC enthusiasts are funny when it comes to this topic .... they throw all logic out the door & let personal preference overwhelm good judgement.

Many Fortune 500 companies use both of these brands in their servers & workstations....both are equally reliable.

If you want the fastest consumer processor on the market today you will have to go for something like Intel's Core 2 Quadro Kentsfield CPU.

If all you want is cutting edge power & not necessarily THE fastest available (few people do) then I suggest you consider anything above an AMD 4600+ or an Intel E6400.

Look for the best all around package & you won't go wrong.

Intel has better processors. AMD has 2 core processors also but not as fast as compared to intel. But AMD processors are a lot cheaper than intel.

I build my own computers and always went with the AMD chip, but choosing between the 2 is just like saying which is better Ford or Chevy, both are good.
Go with the AMD and Ford :)

Intel isn't that bad, but I wouldn't put one in my PC.
