On May, 12 1882 Abrahams Lincoln's famous mistress Louisa Perrier was found dead in her West Virginia cabin. The cause of death was hemlock poisoning, it is believed to be suicide, but conspiracy theories are rampant. She was 59 years old. On July 17 1880 the first woman is lisenced to practice medicine in Canada, Dr. Emily Stowe. Marie Curie discovered the radioactive polonium in 1888. On Jan. 4 1885 the first successful appendectomy is performed by Dr. William W. Grant on Mary Gartside. On Jan. 4 1881 the first medical malpractice suite is filed against a doctor in Canada. No doubt people had some of the same difficulties dealing with the invention of the typewriter as they did the computer. In was invented in the late 1870's but wasn't widely used until the 1880's. Mark Twaine was the first author to use one. In early days, they had contests to see who could type the fastest. You could print in the sentence that became common as a way to use all the letters of the alphabet in the same sentence when learning to type.

Jefferson Finis Davis-Confederate President died on December6, 1889. He was buried 1st time on December 11, 1889 in New Orleans, LA. Widow finally decided where she wanted him permanently, so was moved to Richmond, Va, May 31, 1893
