Persians are Arians, and that does not mean they are better. I resent that you feel you can tell me who I am. Persians are Arians and that is where the name Iran comes from. Arabs speak Arabic . Iranians or Persians speak Parsi or farsi which is an Indo-European language. and please do NOT tell me who I am. I already know.

yeah, it can be annoying. outside of southern california people in the u.s. tend to think i'm "arabic". When I say i'm not they look really confused. when i say i'm iranian they look even more confused. if I then say that iranians are arian they look like their head will explode. it's like if you're middle-eastern you MUST be arabic, read arabic, write arabic, and walk around chanting 'allah akbar' every five minutes. my favorite is the iraq connection though. some people straight-up ask if i'm from iraq, as if that's the only country in that whole region. and god help me if I have to explain that i'm NOT muslim and that NO my family was not strict and my dad was not strict and yes I do date outside of my ethnicity. Now i don't take offense usually because most people mean well, but occassionally it does get a bit annoying.

so my point is that I wholly sympathize with you. my only advise is to pay attention to their intentions, most people mean well so don't judge them harshly. and plus, who knows what assumptions you may have that drive people crazy? as long as people mean well then just look at it as an opportunity to educate them about something.

English is a mix of French, German, Latin and Spanish (less Spanish), does that mean because I speak English I'm German, French, and Spanish? No, it doesn't. You speak Farsi and live in a nation called Iran (Which has nothing to do with Aryan, which you spelt wrong too.), how does that make you not an Arab? As far as I'm concerned, the Israelis are Arabs too, they just take offense because they THINK (personal opinion, nothing more) that they are special. Just like you're doing.

I understand...I have been taking Farsi for 4 years and my teacher is from Iran...people are like you speak Arabic? I'm like no Persian! But that's because they manage to group the entire world into 5 ethnic categories????

Obviously some people made a mistake and assumed you were of a different culture than you are. Some people go by looks, some go by dialect. Whichever you are, I'll bet you have a beautiful spirit.

Please don't judge all of us who really can't remember studying your culture. Most of us are just trying to be friendly.

Because they can....
You did after all
ask a question.
If a description of you
is what they think the
answer is, then that
is what you will get.
If you are talking about
people who just meet
you on the streets....
Everyone is intitled to
thier own opinions....
There's no getting
away from it...
People just love labels.

....Okay, so what ARE you? What would you like us to call you? No offense, but from your near-perfect English punctuation and spelling, I would have never guessed you're from the Mid. East. :P
