Can't be cannabis because I'm a square and don't use it - also very clean, so I doubt it's sweat. Live on the second floor or a house - smell nowhere else in house. Any ideas? Help!

well i sure hope this isn't it, but the last time i has a funny smell in my house, it took me ages to figure it out: it was a dead squirrel in my fireplace...
so a dead animal could be it, not necessarily a squirrel in the fireplace but maybe a mouse or rat somewhere -anywhere? like some people have rats in their walls or ceiling or floors, heaven knows how to get them out of there..... good luck.... i hated to come home eventually when i had this problem.... was so glad i found the squirrel, i didn't even mind getting rid of him that much .... eeeeehhhhh

Probably a roof leak and its gone between the walls or even under the carpeting. Even the slightest leak can produce a mold and mildew and a bad smell.
Id rule out rodents, those things decay so fast, like in a couple days and then produce no smell whatsoever.
We had a case of a foul smell for about a year and to our amazement a mushroom poped up right near he baseboard. The carpeting was pulled up and there below the foam pad it was all molding and smelly. Turned out to be a roof leak right near the toilet main stack that let a trickle or two down there during rain. That wasnt allowed to fully dry, so thus the mold and smell. I heard of other cases where a leaking pipe in a wall created a smell also and and where wet attic insulation produced smells.
