At age 16, she can be emancipated from her parents by the courts and considered an adult. However, at the moment, she is still a runaway juvenile who could be picked up and taken to a state home.

She is probably considered an "emancipated minor." She doesn't have all the adult rights of voting, drinking, etc, yet, but if she is self-supporting she probably has the right to make her own decisions about her life, like an adult does.

Pretty much. But what kind of mother would sign over her rights to her 16 year-old daughter?

if she is emancipated then she is an adult. Unless someone reports a missing person report and person is missing more than 24 hours then they will not look, but if a missing persons report is filed they do have to look

A court may rule that she is an emancipated adult. The parent can not do so alone.

NO.... it just means she is a ward of the state and they will find her sooner or later, but they are probably not going to hunt for her.

no she isn't an adult.she doesn't have any responsibility and she can't take care of herself because she's not old enough to get an apartment.so she'll get what's best for herself when she comes to her senses.
