You have to disassemble the steering column components which requires a puller!

I would go buy a chilton or haynes repair manual from the auto parts store. Make sure you have the original key if you don't have the original key you wont be able to remove the old lock cylinder. But basically the steering wheel has to come off you will need a special tool for that available for free rent at any auto parts store that rents tools. remove the screws that hold the cylinder inplace insert the original key twist and remove.

Like this. Read as far as getting the lock cylinder out. If yours is a tilt, keep reading and check the bolts for the tilt while you're in there.

Use a 3/8 ratchet, 13/16 socket, phillips and small straight blade screwdriver, lock plate compressor, small torx socket set and have at it. Oh, needle nose pliers too to remove key buzzer contacts.

This is not a simple task for a novice if you dont have the tools or the mechanical inclination I would not try it yourself. You would be looking at about 2-2/12 hours at a repair shop.
