Your anti virus programs aren't a problem, you can probably run 3 or 4 side by side.

You find a conflict though if you have more than one firewall running. They will try to shut each other down!!! Pick a good one like Norton Internet Security, I've found this to be the best.

Go for the anti virus' though, you can never be too protected

I advise that you only install one on a physical system. Though you can run multiple scanners and they'll mostly work fine, you are creating several points of failure rather than one. This can make it more of a bear to troubleshoot or setup access rules if necessary. My suggestion is if you do want to have multiple scanners is to run them on separate physical or virtual machines. Therefore, any potential failures (i.e software glitches or configuration issues) will be isolated to a particular machine or virtual instance rather than the whole system. Virtual machines allow you to allocate resources of your current machine so that you can run multiple instances of a similar or different operating system simultaneously. Once such a configuration is up, then you can go wild with having different scanners or proxies. Both Microsoft and Vmware offer free solutions that you can download. You should only have one anti virus program installed on your computer. If you have more than one, they will clash and cause problems for your computer.

For good, free and recommended security programs, please go here

I recommend AVG as an anti virus, although eTrust's 12 month free trial is excellent.

If you need other programs, go for Zone Alarm firewall, AVG anti spyware (formerly Ewido) and SpywareBlaster.

If you click on the names in that list I gave you and it will take you to the official download site.

Please ensure that you keep them all updated for full protection and check for any updates when you first download them.
