Not as much as you think. They are just perceptions from your life mixed with what you ate for dinner and the last movie you watched that stuck in your mind. They are no indicator of the future or of what you really think or ought to do. Just think of them as nighttime entertainment of the weird kind and live your life awake. (They don't mean much except what's in your head floating past)

To the best of my knowledge, dreams are subconcious symbols of things on your mind or situations your subconscious plays with. That's why if you start at a repetitious job, you'll dream of work. If you're pregnant, you're likely to dream about what your baby will be like, or have anxiety dreams that you'll be a bad mother. I'll give an example from personal experience: I have a recurring dream that I'm back with my family (mom, dad, brothers and sister even though we all live in different places now and I have a family of my own). In the dream, invariably we're living in a house that is literally falling apart- often dangerous, and always with giant spiders and other assorted insects everywhere. This dream is a symbol of my still not being settled about my relationship with my family, and my subconcious belief that I come from a dysfunctional home. Your dreams might be about similar themes- or maybe it could be about a single sibling or parent (family come up in dreams often because they're so close), or maybe you dream of some kind of adventure.

Try writing down your dreams. After you have a few, look through them and see if there's a pattern. Maybe you're always eating in your dreams, or there's always a pet- whatever. Notice those themes and think about what they mean to you, or look them up in a dream dictionary to see what they commonly symbolize.

There was a dream expert on here earlier. But he was looking for help to.
Dreams don't really mean anything, unless you make them mean something.
Dreams are your subconscious. And the day you had and the movie you watched and the thoughts you have had through out the day all combining in to one dream or nightmare.
So they mean what you want them to mean.

Dreams really mean nothing, depending on what kind of dream you are having. Are you having dreams and then the dream is really happening. If so you have future visions, it's nothing bad.

They mean something pertinent about your daily life. They provide insights as to what is happening in your life and how to proceed. They also can predict the future when there is something important you need to know. They warn you of things that are happening, or that may happen. They also give you clues about your next steps in personal unfoldment.

Dreams are everyone's art in that they express us metaphorically, and in the very fact that they baffle the conscious mind.
That's my favorite passage from a book written by--Eva Renee Neu.-- And I think it's very true. Dreams are trying to tell us something and trying to interpret them can be very baffling.-- something we need to change or fix in our lives that our sub-conscioue mind is trying to tell us.
