When people come on baby names, asking if people like one name over another, and those are their choices to choose from, other people throw out LONG lists of names that THEY like instead. The person doesn't ask what YOU like, they asked what you like better between the names that THEY like. Why do people take this board as an opportunity to tell the world what THEY would choose? Well, then when it's you, choose that. But don't clutter up other people's questions putting your likes on there, unless that's what they asked for...

I totally agree, and I usually give those people "thumbs down" so I don't have to scroll through their answers if I want to go back and look at someone else's answer later.
I'll maybe switch names around (like if I like a middle name better than a first name listed, I'll suggest the first and middle in reverse order) or suggest one different name, but leaving a list> come on!

I completely agree with you. I think people should only respnd on the question at hand and not saying "I like Emma Jean, its my grandaughters name" when the question is asking if they like then name Paige. It is ridiculous. I dont give a list of better names but possible middle names occasionally. I alswyas put a P.S. at the botom of my baby name answers stating that they should not let people talk them out of the names they really like. This is a good question. I think you make a strong point. It drives me crazy when people do that!
P.S. If you suggested a baby name and people told you different, Mommy knows best remember, go with what you truly picked!

I sometime ask myself the same question. I often wonder if people even read the questions being asked or do they just start typing. Maybe people just don't like the the name that are put out there and they just want to offer other suggestions?????

Two thumbs up to you for mentioning this. I agree! The other night I saw a list of over 100 names someone gave as an answer to someone asking betweeing two names. I generally give my opinion and then perhaps a suggestion if I feel it is similar to what the person is asking.

I "absolutely" couldn't agree more! I often ask myself that same question! It's so frustrating! You ask opinions on names YOU like and they start rambling out "their" favourite names!

People copy/paste name lists from baby name websites hoping that they will get best answer. It's called Best answer not Longest answer haha.
