autosol is a really effective crome cleaner it will remove rust with ease and minimum effort just smear on with a soft cloth so all affected parts look dull then polish of with a clean soft cloth. you can find this at your local halfords or garage

This is a great product - eco frinedly the lot - you will find rust tends to come back so a bottle of this around would be a good investment for 6 quid - most importantly it wont affect the rubber wheels on the bike :) its called RUST - AWAY

Soak it in a combo of CLR and water, following the directions on the CLR bottle.
If that is not strong enough, there's professional strength rust removers that would do it but you have to be extra careful with them.

Try an SOS pad. Works great and really easy to remove the rust.

sos pads work well. Takes off rust with very little elbow grease & puts a nice shine on. Especially on chrome. Chrome cleaner also works well with little work.

I read that WD-40 will remove rust.
