Yes, that's relatively normal. If it becomes too much for her to bear, take her to the hospital.

Did they give her painkillers after the abortion? They should have and tell her to follow the directions on those. If they didn't, some extra strength tylenol should help - don't overdose!

Also, if she is bleeding excessively - filling up a pad in an hour or less - she needs to go to the hospital. If she gets a sudden fever, she needs to go to the hospital.

I think she'll be fine. Tell her to lie down with a heating pad or blanket and try to relax. If they gave her painkillers, make sure she takes them correctly. And if they gave her any anti-biotics or other things, tell her to take them as directed.

Please tell her to keep her follow up appointment whenever it is. It's important for her recovery and health.

Best of luck and health to you both! Take good care. You're a very good friend!
Peace.

I also had an abortion due to medical reasons. Mine was a while ago but i remember that i couldnt even stand up straight because of the pain. It was a sharp pain..i think what she is going through is normal. If she is very concerned she should call her doctor and just ask them..they should have told her what to expect and gave her a paper about it too. She should just be resting her body just went through a lot. I'm sorry for her loss.

I wouldn't know if that is normal, but it seems like the people who performed the abortion would have told her what to expect. I would think some cramping would be normal, and the further along she was, then the more cramping. If she's concerned then she shouldn't hesitate to call her Dr. And don't leave her alone, she could hemorrhage or something, keep an eye on her, if she seems woozy, starts to faint, or if she starts bleeding a lot take her to the ER.

I know when one of the friends I used to know that had an abortion was in quite a bit of pain after the procedure was done. I'm not sure if she got sick like your friend but she really consider calling her Dr. to find out if that's normal with feeling the pain she has and throwing up.

Hope she feels better & Good Luck

Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Yes it is normal her body is getting used there not being a pregnancy there anylonger when it thinks there should be one. The doctor/clinic should have sent her home with some pain meds, if not call them and ask what to take for the pain.

I don't know if she's supposed to have sharp pain - but she should be having pain like really bad menstrual cramps. Didn't they give her anything to help with the pain? A phone number to call in case she has questions or concerns?

I would definitely call and make sure that everything is okay with her. I had something similar to that along with a fever and I called. They told me that I would have to go in and possibly do it again...something that really freaked me out, I mean it was bad enough the first time. Everything ended up being okay but it was good to know that I was okay.

I would think that is normal... but I am not a doctor so I do not know for sure. She should probably call the doctor and check. Best of luck. I hope she feels better.

Yes it is normal to have pain. She should've been given a number to call for questions. She should call the clinic or abortionist if she is concerned.
